What you can expect

  • We'll start at the city gate, where you can get an overview of the Basque Country, with its mountains, water, fields, and mother earth. I will introduce you to Basque history starting from prehistoric times, and you will learn about the origins of the Basque language in the Stone Age.

Then we'll enter the historic old town with its beautiful architecture and visit the Church of the Apple Trees.

A must-see is the Parador Castle of Emperor Charles V, with its wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean.

We'll head down to the Marina district by the river, where you'll learn about the Basque cross, a Christian-pagan fusion representing Mother Earth.

I'll give you some recommendations for restaurants and bars.

Come and have fun while learning!
