Meet your guide at the designated meeting point in Hoi An Ancient Town at the scheduled time. As vehicles are not allowed inside the Old Town, this activity is conducted entirely on foot. Your guide will confirm your booking and provide you with a paper lantern at the meeting point, then escort you to the nearby river dock.
At the dock, you will board a traditional wooden boat reserved only for your group. Each boat accommodates 1–5 passengers, and your group will not share the boat with other guests. Once on board, the local boat rower will assist you with lighting the lantern
During peak hours (18:30–19:30), the river area can be busy. After arriving at the dock, you may need to wait approximately 15–20 minutes before boarding the wooden boat, depending on availability.
The boat ride lasts approximately 10–15 minutes, depending on river traffic and conditions. While cruising along the river, enjoy views of Hoi An Ancient Town illuminated by lanterns, with colorful reflections shimmering on the water. This experience focuses on sightseeing and atmosphere, rather than narration or guided commentary.
Please note that local boat rowers do not speak English. Lantern release takes place during the ride, depending on the boat’s position and river conditions.
After the boat returns to the dock, the activity ends. This is a short, simple, and authentic experience, designed to offer a glimpse of Hoi An by night from the river rather than a guided tour or extended cruise.
