What you can expect
Experience Hiroshima’s powerful history and Miyajima’s sacred beauty in one comfortable day with a private guide. Travel from Peace Memorial Park to Miyajima by high-speed ferry, explore Itsukushima Shrine and traditional island streets, then ride the Miyajima Ropeway for panoramic views—without a demanding hike to Mt. Misen’s summit.
Begin at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Learn about the atomic bombing, the lives affected, and how Hiroshima rebuilt itself as an international symbol of peace. Your guide will introduce the meaning behind key memorials and place the events of 1945 within the city’s wider history.
Board a high-speed ferry and travel directly across the Seto Inland Sea toward Miyajima. Enjoy views of the water, coastline, and surrounding islands as the Great Torii Gate gradually comes into sight.
On Miyajima, explore the area around Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built above the tidal shoreline. Learn why the island has long been considered sacred and how the changing tide transforms the appearance of the shrine and torii gate.
Continue through traditional streets lined with wooden buildings, local shops, food stalls, and freely roaming deer. Food, drinks, and shopping are optional unless otherwise stated.
Next, ride the Miyajima Ropeway above the forested slopes of Mt. Misen. From the gondola and upper station area, enjoy elevated views of the coastline, mountains, and islands of the Seto Inland Sea.
This tour does not include the hike to Mt. Misen’s summit. Instead, enjoy the ropeway journey and accessible viewpoints before descending comfortably.
Because this is a private tour, the guide can adjust the pace and emphasis for your group. Spend more time on Hiroshima’s history, shrine culture, island scenery, photos, shops, or rest breaks.
Ferry and ropeway services may be affected by weather, maintenance, or other local conditions. If either service is unavailable, the route may need to be adjusted.
