In the center of the city of Hiroshima is Hiroshima Castle, with its beautiful board-walled keep. The beauty and size of the castle are magnificent, and it has remained a symbol of Hiroshima for more than 300 years since its construction.
However, its beauty was lost in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945. The current keep is a reconstruction based on documents recorded before the atomic bombing.
