What you can expect

Discover the beauty of the Big Island of Hawaiʻi and what makes it a truly unique place in the world. Our tour explores the Big Island’s natural wonders and cultural roots using an immersive approach. Guided by the Aloha spirit, we focus on engaging your senses to connect with the land, its people, and the stories that flow through them.

We begin by picking up our guests in the Hilo area and driving up the mountain. We'll take you on an unforgettable journey through Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, including ancient lava tubes, steam vents, and the world’s most active volcano, Kilauea. Feel the power of an active volcano and its many attractions as you explore dramatic landscapes shaped by fire and time.

At lunch, we provide island-inspired lunch at a local restaurant in the Hilo area.

We'll continue with photo opportunities at various scenic points. You'll ride along the Old Mamalahoa Highway, which was once the original main road around the island, passing through the historic Onomea Bay, and stopping at Kawainui Falls—a swimming hole fed by a gushing river running through a lava tube. It’s just like a mini road to Hana cruise which “snakes” through a beautiful green rain forest scenery, like streams, waterfalls, and lush tropical vegetation. This curvy/windy 4 miles stretch of road is truly one of the main gems of the island to experience.

Returning to Downtown Hilo, we'll show you the picture-perfect scenery of Rainbow Falls on the Wailuku river and the myths that surround it.

No visit in Hilo is complete without a stop at the Hilo Farmer's Market—a favorite marketplace for locals and visitors alike with fresh fruit, local treats, and handmade crafts.

You'll also visit and learn about the King Kamehemeha Statue, a storied landmark that brings Hawaiʻi’s history to life.

Next we'll take you through Liliuokalani Park, a serene plot of Japanese arched bridges, fish ponds, and towering banyan trees. The park is the largest authentic Edo-style garden outside of Japan. You'll see neighboring Moku Ola, aka Coconut Island, an iconic island in Hilo bay with scenic views and shady palms.

Finally we'll end at Richardson's Ocean Park, a rare mixed black/green/white sand beach with many tide pools often visited by green sea turtles. Bring your swim suit if you want to take a quick dip in the water.
