The Morne Brabant is a mountain in the south-west of Mauritius with an
altitude of 550 meters
It was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008 in recognition of its
function as a refuge for freed slaves in the 19th and early 20th century.
The trail to the minor summit is very easy to follow. You won’t be upset with
the intense landscape and scenery. Moreover Le Morne Brabant includes a
multitude of endemic species such as the rare “Trochetia Boutoniana”.
Although challenging at times with some rock climbing towards the middle
of the trail, you will be rewarded by the stunning 360 views over the hills,
forests and beaches of Mauritius from the peak of Le Morne Brabant!
