- Start at Constantia Nek We begin with a steady climb through shaded forest paths, easing into the adventure while enjoying views back over Constantia. - Historic Overseas Hut Your first landmark is the old Overseas Hut, a reminder of early mountaineering days - Three Mountain Dams We’ll pass three beautiful dams tucked into the plateau, each offering tranquil scenery and a chance to pause. - Echo Valley Exploration The trail leads into Echo Valley, famous for its rich biodiversity. Here you’ll see a variety of indigenous plants and, with luck, some local wildlife. - Maclear’s Beacon – The Summit We continue to the highest point on Table Mountain, Maclear’s Beacon (1,086m), where breathtaking 360° views stretch across Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula, and beyond. - Smuts Track to the Cable Car From the summit, we follow the historic Smuts Track, descending toward the Upper Cable Car Terminal. This final section offers dramatic vistas and a rewarding finish. This hike combines nature, history, and adventure: from forested slopes to mountain dams, from hidden valleys to the summit itself.
