What you can expect
Accompanied by a tour guide, you will start your journey at Lingyin Temple. As the earliest temple in Hangzhou, Lingyin Temple boasts a history of nearly 1,700 years and is one of the ten most important Zen Buddhist temples in China. The temple features magnificent halls, and the camphor-wooden statue of Shakyamuni Buddha in the Mahavira Hall is especially awe-inspiring, making it a sacred place for prayers and wishes. Strolling through the temple, visitors can momentarily stay away from the hustle and bustle of city life and find inner peace.
Then, we will visit Feilai Peak. Feilai Peak is renowned for its grotto sculptures with more than 300 stone-carved Buddhist statues scattered across its cliff faces. The sculptures inside Qinglin Cave and Yuru Cave are exquisitely delicate, forming a striking contrast with the tangled vines surrounding them. Wandering along the winding mountain trails, you can not only admire the superb craftsmanship of ancient artisans but also enjoy serenity and tranquility.
At noon, we will take you to have some local street foods (designated by us) like pan-fried buns or wontons. Furthermore, if you want to have a meal, we can arrange that for you, but you should pay for yourself.
Next, we will head to the Grand Canal. The Grand Canal is the world's longest and largest ancient canal, with a history of more than 2,500 years. By taking a waterbus, you can admire the ancient stone arch of Gongchen Bridge, see the old red-brick buildings along the riverbank, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of daily life.
The final stop of the journey is the Qiaoxi Historical and Cultural Block. Located beside Gongchen Bridge, it is a well-preserved block along the Grand Canal. Strolling along the stone-paved streets, you can admire waterside residences and stop at various distinctive shops, or sit by the canal, enjoy the breeze, and spend a relaxing afternoon. You may purchase snacks and souvenirs here, but the costs will be at your own expense.
