What you can expect

  • Roman road, capital and crocodiles, this excursion could be summed up in a word: Djerba. You will stop at the lively capital of Houmt Souk, in the village of Pottery in Guellala, at the Synagogue La Ghriba, to finish in Djerba explore: the largest Crocodile farm in the Mediterranean. Along the way, you enjoy an old architecture and savor a delicious lunch.

It all starts with a photo stop on an old Roman roadway: a low and rocky bridge dating from the 1st century AD. You continue to Guellala and take advantage of free time to explore this famous pottery center. Take the opportunity to buy terracotta pots and bowls in the souk, and discover everything there is to know about traditional Berber life.

The next step is Ghriba, the oldest synagogue in Tunisia. After admiring hundreds of decorative tiles and blue arcades, you will join Houmt-Souk, the capital of Djerba. You can walk in the labyrinthine streets and soak up the atmosphere. After lunch, we will stop at Djerba Park Explore, the largest crocodile farm in the Mediterranean which houses more than 400 crocodiles in the Nile.
