We’ll kick off at 7am at Calico Basin, just 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip yet surrounded by desert beauty. After a quick intro and gear-up, we’ll stroll along a scenic 15-minute trail that leads to the cliffs. Once there, the adventure begins. We’ll spend the session climbing classic Red Rock routes, each chosen to match your ability level. New climbers will enjoy fun, beginner-friendly climbs that highlight movement, balance, and the unique feel of sandstone. More experienced climbers can step it up with steeper or more technical lines for a bigger challenge. Between climbs, we’ll take in the wide-open desert views, catch our breath, and enjoy the peaceful desert vibes. When the session wraps up, we’ll hike out together on an easy trail back to the parking area. We’ll finish before midday, leaving you with plenty of time to head back into Las Vegas—with the unforgettable satisfaction of having climbed real desert rock. All activities are led by Mike Donaldson, a certified professional climbing guide. Guiding services are provided under the authority of officially licensed and permitted operators within Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
