Gambaran keseluruhan

  • Small group. Personal storytelling. San Antonio’s history connected from beginning to end. Rather than simply moving from one landmark to the next, Victor weaves the Alamo, River Walk, Tower of the Americas, La Villita, and San Fernando Cathedral into one unfolding story.

Discover overlooked details, debated moments, movie connections, local traditions, and the people whose choices shaped the city. Questions and teasers invite you to look closer, while Victor saves the most memorable stories for the experience itself.

With no more than ten (10) travelers, there is time for conversation, photographs, questions, and regular opportunities to rest. Your reserved Alamo Church entry, narrated GO RIO River Walk cruise, and Tower of the Americas admission are included.

Guests have described the experience as “amazingly fun and informative,” an “excellent history lesson,” and filled with “lots of history.”

The Alamo

  • 1j
Meet Victor, your local storyteller, outside The Emily Morgan Hotel, across from the Alamo. Begin with overlooked stories of Alamo Plaza, including Hotel Gibbs, the historic federal building, the Woolworth Building, the Menger Hotel, Theodore Roosevelt’s Rough Riders, and the former Joske’s building. Your reserved timed-entry visit to the Alamo Church is arranged in advance. After exploring the interior, regroup with Victor to discover how Mission San Antonio de Valero became a military garrison and fortified compound connected to the Spanish presidio. How did the mission become known as the Alamo, and how did San Antonio receive its name? Meet the people behind the famous names. Hear how Joe witnessed Travis fall, what Susanna Dickinson endured with her young daughter, why Crockett’s final moments remain debated, and the dramatic story of Robert Evans racing toward the powder magazine. Victor brings these stories to life while saving the most powerful details for the experience.

San Antonio River Walk

  • 1j 30m
  • Termasuk tiket masuk
Descend from Alamo Plaza toward the River Walk, passing the former Joske’s building and St. Joseph Catholic Church, nearly surrounded by later development. Learn how the San Antonio River sustained the area’s earliest communities and how the creation of the River Walk later helped preserve, revitalize, and reshape downtown. Continue to the waterfall for a photo stop, then visit the statue of Saint Anthony of Padua as Victor shares how Spanish explorers named the river in 1691. Next, board your included narrated GO RIO cruise. From the water, see historic bridges, public art, hotels, the Lila Cockrell Theatre, and the Henry B. González Convention Center while hearing how San Antonio grew from a mission settlement into a modern destination. After the cruise, continue past the Miguel Hidalgo monument on the way to the Tower of the Americas.

Tower of the Americas

  • 30m
  • Termasuk tiket masuk
Before ascending the Tower of the Americas, Victor introduces stories many visitors never expect to hear here. What connects the assassination of federal judge John H. Wood Jr. to one of Hollywood’s most recognizable actors? Which U.S. president visited San Antonio just one day before he was assassinated? Then step into the story of HemisFair ’68. What diplomatic efforts helped bring Mexico and other nations to San Antonio? Why did a First Lady play such a visible role in opening the fair? How was the Hilton Palacio del Rio completed in only 202 days, and why was the historic Fairmount Hotel moved about five blocks instead of being demolished? Your included admission takes you to the observation deck of the 750-foot Tower of the Americas, where panoramic views reveal how San Antonio’s historic neighborhoods, missions, downtown skyline, and surrounding landscape fit together.

La Villita Historic Arts Village

  • 20m
Walk through La Villita, one of San Antonio’s oldest neighborhoods, as Victor begins connecting the people, places, and stories introduced earlier. How did Samuel Augustus Maverick become linked to the word “maverick,” and how did his grandson, Mayor Maury Maverick, help save La Villita from demolition? At the Arneson River Theatre, discover why this familiar setting appeared in Miss Congeniality and how San Antonio also became a backdrop for Spy Kids. Cross Rosita’s Bridge and learn why it honors one of the city’s most beloved Mexican American performers. Continue past the Briscoe Western Art Museum, where San Antonio’s Spanish, Mexican, Texan, and Western stories begin to overlap. This walk through La Villita brings together earlier themes of missions, movies, music, preservation, and identity before the experience continues toward Main Plaza for its final chapter.

San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral

  • 30m
Leaving the Briscoe Western Art Museum, continue beneath the Presa Street truss bridge and along the River Walk past Marriage Island, the Tower Life Building, and the Locks of Love Bridge. Victor connects these landmarks to earlier stories about the river, Spanish exploration, preservation, and San Antonio’s changing identity. Climb toward the Bexar County Courthouse and pass La Mexicana, where Victor and Victor Jr. spent more than a year developing their experiences. Arrive at the Canary Islanders Monument and San Fernando Cathedral, where the city’s Spanish, Indigenous, Mexican, military, and civic stories come together. Continue through Main Plaza toward Military Plaza and discover how the Cathedral became connected to the Alamo story. When scheduled, conclude with San Antonio | The Saga. The experience ends near the River Walk restaurant area. Guests may continue exploring, or Victor will gladly walk them to a nearby downtown hotel or back toward the meeting point.

Bexar County Courthouse (Sambil lalu)

Pass the Bexar County Courthouse and Founders Monument at Main Plaza, once known as Plaza de las Islas. Hear how 56 Canary Islanders arrived on March 9, 1731, after a sea and overland journey lasting more than a year. They established Villa de San Fernando de Béxar and formed the first organized civil government in Texas, helping create the civil town that grew into modern San Antonio.
