What you can expect
Get out of the city and into nature on this half-day adventure in National Botanical Garden in Shah Alam. Take a guided, leisurely bike ride through colorful rainforest and tropical wonderlands, spot exotic local wildlife, and spend time exploring the many unusual plant collections.
A comfortable air-conditioned vehicle takes you from your hotel to the entrance of National Botanical Garden. Skipping the line, go right into the park and get your mountain bike. Pedaling slowly, your guide leads you under beautiful towering trees, past flowery gardens, and along quiet lakes.
As you go, stop for a closer look at exotic and bizarre specimens, including the umbrella-like canopy of the rain tree and the elaborate, twisting trunk of the strangler fig. Breathe in sweet-smelling tropical fruit trees, savory-scented herbs, and intoxicating plumerias.
Take a break and walk through the elegant Sunken Garden’s swirling, manicured shrubs. Stroll through the Orchid Garden, which houses a staggering 800 species of orchids. Later, relax near one of the park’s waterfalls or fish ponds, and watch local birds splash around.
Back on your bike, head to the deer park to see the smallest hoofed animal in the world, the mousedeer. Along the way, spot a number of animals in the park, including playful langur and macaque monkeys. After a day of exploration, your guide takes you for an easy hike up Bukit Sapu Tangan for sweeping views of Shah Alam city before you return to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
