We’ll talk about the history of a castle located near the castle of the kings of France, which became the home of one of the world’s greatest painters.
But Leonardo da Vinci didn’t just paint—he was an inventor in many fields, so don’t worry if you’re not a fan of art history; you’ll still find something to enjoy.
We’ll discuss, in an engaging way, everything that inspired this man throughout his life, so if you’re interested in painting, anatomy, architecture, civil engineering, or even military engineering, you’ll find something to enjoy!

In this castle, which is now privately owned, you can find full-scale reconstructions of the inventions conceived by Leonardo da Vinci, which makes it easier for us to understand what they must have looked like. And some of them are interactive, so you can actually use them. And yes, for once, it’s not only completely allowed but even encouraged to touch the objects on display in the gardens!
I’ll meet you in front of the chateau for a 1.5-hour guided tour through the chateau’s park. The tour will end in the park, which will give you time to visit the interior of the Clos Lucé afterwards.
For a more comfortable tour, for groups of more than 2 people, I use a transmitter and headphone system. This way, the tour and your understanding of it will be even better.
Bonus: If you like the town of Amboise, don’t hesitate to round out your visit with a tour of the Château Royal d’Amboise, which I also offer. Add this tour to the second half of your day, as this other castle is located nearby and features a chapel that today houses the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci.
