Discover the historical sights in Armenia. Learn about local culture and religion at three monasteries, visit Hagpati and Sanahin, and the old monastery of Akhtala is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hagpati and Sanahini monasteries are closely connected and are 40 minutes away from each other. Legend has it that both monasteries were built by father and son masons, Sanahin was built earlier by his father. The name says it all: Sanahin literally means “he is older than others”. We will also get to know traditional Armenian cuisine, where we will be hosted by a traditional Armenian family.

Haghpat Monastery, founded by Queen Khosrovanush (wife of King Ashot III of Armenia) in 976. It consists of one narthex, two corridors-tombs, a refectory, a scriptorium, a Hamazasp chapel, a bell tower, several chapels. Tombs and crosses (khachkars).
