Start your day with a road trip from Liberia, observing the mountain range, nature, and the scenery of Guanacaste. After enjoying the landscape for 25 km, reach the Santa Maria Sector, which belongs to Rincon de la Vieja National Park.

We started the tour with much culture and knowledge at the Casona of the old Hacienda Santa Maria. Then, initiate your hike, observing wildlife and learning about nature. A primary forest right at the base of the Santa Maria crater will show an amazing authentic experience.

In a single trail of about 6km where you will be able to see local and different wildlife such as monkeys, raccoons, peccary, squirrels, snakes, anteaters, and much more.

At the trail's end is a natural river of freshwater combined with magical blue thermal mineral water, in a shallow swimming pool to relax and the unique scenery.

Go in and disconnect your mind and body, relaxing and breathing the essence of the volcano. On the way back, visit the Morpho Waterfall and the Enchanted Forrest Waterfall, where you can rest your feet and dip into fresh water, or just enjoy the peaceful loving forest and river around you.

This is a medium-scale hike, approximately 6 km round trip, with 80% of flat terrain throughout the trail, making it more accessible and enjoyable.
