What you can expect

Welcome to the town of gorgeous Goslar, known throughout history as one of the small towns that have survived based on the production of the mine, situated in the outskirts. This town has the largest number of old beautifully-carved, half-timbered houses in Germany, 1800 of them! The Old Town of Goslar and the Mines of Rammelsberg are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is a charming place for strolling through the winding streets and admiring the well-preserved, picturesque houses. See the St.Ulrich Chapel which originates in the history of this magnificent palace. Inside is a sarcophagus that contains the heart of Henry III, who was interred in Goslar at his request, and has been kept since 1884 in the Chapel of St. Ulrich. Pass the “Lohmühle” Leather Tanners’ Mill to find out that this was the leather tanners. It was built in the early 16th century and served later as both a cement- and a leather tanning mill. You can still see parts of the historic water wheel and the mechanism for grinding oak bark and making tannic acid. Discover the highlights of the beautiful city of Goslar, stroll the streets of the Old Town and visit the Imperial Palace.
