One of the highlights of this tour is the Pillars of Hercules, where you will enjoy breathtaking views across the Strait of Gibraltar to North Africa, Morocco. This is the unique point where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea, the only natural entrance to the Mediterranean.
Our next stop is St Michael’s Cave, one of Gibraltar’s most visited natural attractions. With easy access and minimal walking, visitors can explore its vast caverns, formed over millions of years as rainwater filtered through limestone rock, gradually creating this spectacular underground world.
We then continue to the Top of the Rock, where two unforgettable experiences await. First, visit the Skywalk, a former military lookout transformed into a modern glass viewing platform. Here you can enjoy uninterrupted 360° panoramic views across the Mediterranean, offering a thrilling sense of space, freedom, and elevation.
Just a short walk away is Upper Apes’ Den, home to Gibraltar’s famous Barbary Macaques the only wild monkeys found in Europe. Over 200 Monkeys live freely in six packs within the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. Legend says that as long as the Monkeys remain on the Rock, Gibraltar will stay British a belief famously supported by Sir Winston Churchill during World War II.
From the summit, we drive to the northern side of the Rock to visit the impressive Great Siege Tunnels. Hand-carved during the Great Siege, these tunnels played a vital role in defending Gibraltar against Spanish and French forces and offer fascinating insight into the Rock’s military history.
On the descent, we pass the Moorish Castle, where you can view its striking exterior and visible cannon damage from historic battles. Originally built in 1160 CE and later rebuilt in the 14th century, it stands as a powerful symbol of Gibraltar’s rich and layered past.
Finally, we exit the Nature Reserve and drive through Gibraltar’s Old Town, concluding the tour.
