Genoa has always had a dual soul: a city of saints and merchants, of sailors and… of hidden sins. A journey through alleyways and memories that reveals the other side of Genoa: the secret, forbidden, but incredibly human side. This itinerary traces the history of prostitution in Genoa, from the first medieval records, when it was confined to a specific area of the city, to the forms of regulation in later centuries, up to the revolution of the Merlin Law.

The route will not only be historical: we will also encounter the places and memories linked to the great Genoese singer-songwriters, who with their immortal songs have given voice to this world of desires, melancholy, and poetry.
