Built into the limestone bluffs outside of Split, the imposing Klis Fortress(Tvrdava Klis) was once an important defensive stronghold between the Mediterranean and the Balkans. It housed the seat of many Croatian kings, though nowadays it’s better known as the film location for the fictional city of Meereen in the series Game of Thrones. This attraction you can see in 1h 30min. After we need to drive 30min to the center of Split.

After Klis 30-45min you start the tour at the Split Riva, the promenade of Split. Through the Bronze City Gate, you enter the basement of the palace. The vaulted cellars are intact and very well preserved after more than 1700 years. Then you move on to the sacral part of the palace, the Perystil, and the Cathedral, which was once Diocletian's mausoleum. The pagan temple of Jupiter became a baptistery in the 7th century. You will walk along Cardo, the former main street of the palace, and admire the Golden Gate. Then you can have lunch, coffee or drink around 2h45m.
