This temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is perched on Mount Hiei between the cities of Kyoto and Otsu. It is still under renovation until 2026 and it is an opportunity for us to see how a traditional Japanese building, the object of an exhibition, is being renovated. Nearby are the Hall for World Peace and the Monju-ro Gate which we will then visit.
