3 Day Zagora Desert Tour to Erg Chigaga Itinerary
DAY 1 ZAGORA TO CHIGAGA VIA MHAMID
Private 3 Day Zagora to Erg Chigaga Tour starts from Zagora at 1 pm. We drive you towards M’Hamid through Tizi Anagame and Ben Selman Mountain, from here we leave the tarmac road and we trade it for off-road, Stones River, and Sand Dunes. On the way, we will stop at the Oases a many picture opportunities. 2 hours drive & we get to Erg Chigaga (the largest dunes in the region) before sunset.
Well! Here you have to climb the big dunes in order to assist this unique sunset, especially with that sun and sand contrast. The best time for pictures as the sand turns red in order to match this beautiful sky. Arrive at your Desert camp, Check in your private tent, and enjoy your special evening.
Dinner, campfire with drum players, and Berber music.
DAY 2 CAMEL TREKKING AROUND THE ERG CHIGAGA SAND DUNES & SANDBOARDING
You will assist the sunrise from the top of the dunes, another type of sun/sand contrast. Later it’s breakfast time.
Your Camels are ready for full-day trekking around Erg Chigaga sand dunes. In 2 hours we reach the Tamares tree, where your guide is going to make the lunch. Kebabs & freshly baked bread will be made locally as the nomads would do. Explore the area around and stop at the Nomad’s family camp, hang out, and have a tea with them. Later we get back to the main Desert camp. Admire the beautiful sunset on the dunes for the second time. enjoy your special evening. Dinner and campfire with drum players and Berber music.
P.S: This full-day Sahara trek is doable on a Camel and 4×4 or only on 4×4 for those who want to.
DAY 3ERG CHIGAGA TO ZAGORA VIA TAMAGROUTE
Sunrise is a magical moment not to be missed. This is why the wake-up is gonna be early today, so you can climb to the top of the dunes and assist the beautiful sunrise ever. After having your breakfast, we will leave Chegaga toward Zagora, taking the direction of the last village in Draa Valley. On our way back, we will make a stop in order to visit the Koranic library in Tamagroute, then drive back to Zagora.
Your Tour from Zagora to Erg Chigaga ends at noon.
