Your first main destination is Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, one of Indonesia’s most spectacular waterfalls. After arriving at the parking area, you will hike down through forest trails and rocky paths toward the waterfall basin. As you descend, you’ll hear the roar of cascading water before reaching breathtaking viewpoints where dozens of waterfalls form a massive curtain surrounded by lush green cliffs. You will have time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the fresh mountain atmosphere before returning to the top.
Next, you will continue your journey to the Mount Bromo area, located inside Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. After checking in and resting briefly, you will wake up early for the Bromo sunrise experience. Before dawn, a 4WD jeep will take you to a panoramic viewpoint where you can watch the sunrise slowly illuminate Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru rising above a sea of clouds. After sunrise, you will cross the Sea of Sand and hike up to the rim of Mount Bromo’s crater, where you can observe the active volcano up close.
The adventure continues toward Banyuwangi, home to the famous Kawah Ijen. The hike to Ijen begins early in the morning, accompanied by a local guide. The trail leads you to the crater rim, revealing an otherworldly landscape with a massive turquoise acidic lake. You may also see traditional sulfur miners carrying heavy loads, offering a unique insight into local life and culture.
After completing the Kawah Ijen hike, you will be transferred by car to your chosen drop-off destination, marking the end of this unforgettable Java overland adventure.
