Your journey will begin from the heart of Washington DC. Enjoy the sights as you cross the Potomac River out of the city to your first stop, Alexandria, Virginia with its 18th & 19th century buildings, including the Masonic Memorial dedicated to the first president of the United States. Continue onwards to today's destination: Mt Vernon Estate, the home of George Washington for over 40 years.
Upon arrival at Mt Vernon, enjoy a narrated tour full of historical facts around the framed landmark. Through on-site historical reenactments, a colonial period blacksmith shop and farm and commentary from your knowledgeable guide, learn about Washington's history and daily life in 18th Century America. Your entry ticket to Mt. Vernon with the mansion and grounds includes the tombs of George Washington and his wife, Martha Washington.
