What you can expect
At 8:30 am, you will be picked up from your hotel in Veracruz and driven north to visit the capital of the State of Veracruz, Xalapa.
First, you will visit the El Lencero Museum, a house with a rich history. It was once home to one of Hernán Cortés' soldiers and served as an inn for travelers. It also became the residence of Mexico's former president, Antonio López de Santa Anna. In the museum, you will see furniture, the former president's personal belongings, the gardens, and El Lencero's coffee plantations.
Afterwards, you will head to the center of Xalapa for some sightseeing in Veracruz's capital. You will visit the Government Palace, the Bishop Guízar and Valencia Cathedral, and the University campus. You will also visit the Xalapa Museum of Anthropology, one of Mexico's most noteworthy museums, where you can observe important artifacts from pre-Hispanic cultures such as the Olmec, Totonaca, and Huasteca.
Following this historical journey, you will move on to Coatepec, Mexico's 'magical town.' The term 'magic' is used to describe this place due to its renowned coffee. You will take a tour of the Interactive Coffee Museum, where you will uncover the secrets behind a cup of coffee, a drink of great importance in this region. You will also taste different types of coffee produced in Coatepec.
At 6:30 pm, you will start your return journey back to your hotel in Veracruz, with an expected arrival at 8 pm.
Departure from Boca del Río: If you prefer, you can also book this same day trip departing from Boca del Río.
