DAY 1: Salt Flat Exploration and More
We will begin our exciting adventure at 10.30 am with a visit to the historic Uyuni Train Cemetery, where you will admire Bolivia's first locomotives. Afterwards, we will head to the charming village of Colchani, known for its traditional salt craftsmanship. Continue to the immense Salar de Uyuni, an impressive white sea of salt, where you will visit the ‘Ojos del Salar’ and a fascinating Salt Museum built entirely of salt. In addition, we will explore the majestic Incahuasi Island, ascending to its summit to marvel at giant cacti and rock formations that resemble petrified corals. You will have time to take fun photos on the white surface of the salt flat. We will conclude the first day in the picturesque village of Puerto Chuvica, where we will spend the night in a cosy lodge built almost entirely of salt.
DAY 2: Highland lakes and unforgettable landscapes
On the second day we will continue our journey through the Chiguana desert, on the southern edge of the Salar de Uyuni, surrounded by imposing volcanoes, including the active Ollague, visible from a viewpoint. We will travel along rocky roads to the beautiful lagoons of the altiplano, home to three species of flamingos. You will be impressed by the lagoons along the way: Cañapa, where you will see pink flamingos; Hedionda, where you can observe them up close; and Chiarcota, where you will enjoy a great variety of birds and fauna. Next, we will enter the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve (REA) and visit the Siloli Desert, where the enigmatic Arbol de Piedra (Stone Tree) stands out. You will conclude this exciting day at the Laguna Colorada refuges, where you will spend the night in basic shared family accommodation.
DAY 3: Geysers, Hot Springs and Enchanted Lagoons
The last day of the tour starts at 5:00 a.m. We will visit the impressive Sol de Mañana Geyser, the highest point of the tour, located at almost 5,000 metres above sea level. Here, among fumaroles and steaming craters full of boiling mud, you will live a unique experience. Afterwards, we will head to the relaxing Polques Hot Springs to enjoy a rejuvenating thermal bath. Continue to the impressive Dali Desert, where rocks emerge in the middle of the desert landscape. You will be able to admire the enigmatic Green and White Lagoons. To finish this unforgettable tour, we offer you two options:
Option 1: Start and finish in Uyuni.
Option 2: Start in Uyuni and finish in Atacama, in this case you will have to pay an additional private transfer to San Pedro de Atacama.
