The tour starts at 11:30 AM at the Untergöhren pier, located directly on the picturesque Fleesensee, one of the most famous lakes in the Mecklenburg Lake District. As the ship sets sail, your gaze wanders over well-kept vacation homes, waterfront promenades, and dense rows of trees, where you can often already spot the first gray herons and great crested grebes. In the water, schools of fish flash beneath the surface – a sign of the region's rich ecosystem.
We will soon leave Lake Fleesensee via the connecting arm to Lake Kölpinsee – this passage is unspoiled, featuring narrow reed beds where coots, mallards, and even the occasional shy kingfisher can often be spotted.
From Lake Kölpin, we head towards the Eldenburg Canal, with the boat passing under Federal Highway 192 before finally reaching the Inner Müritz. We will make a short detour onto the Außenmüritz to Klink Castle. Built at the end of the 19th century, its style is reminiscent of French Loire châteaux. Today, it houses a hotel and restaurant.
After that, you will head towards Waren (Müritz), the jewel on Germany's largest inland lake. We will dock at the stone jetty, very close to the town center. Life is bustling here: the historic old town is just a few steps away. A promenade lined with cafés, small boutiques, and fish stalls invites you to take a stroll. If you like, you can visit the well-known Müritzeum, a modern nature experience center featuring a huge freshwater aquarium, interactive exhibitions on the flora and fauna of the region, and fascinating information about Lake Müritz and its inhabitants.
Alternatively, a walk through the cure park, to St. George's Church (Georgenkirche), or to the New Market Square (Neuer Markt) with its colorful facades is well worth it. Climbing the tower of Marienkirche, which offers a panoramic view over Waren, is also a memorable experience.
After a two-hour shore excursion, the ship will set sail again, heading back across the Binnenmüritz, through Lake Kölpinsee, and finally into the calmer Lake Fleesensee – a relaxing conclusion to an eventful tour. At around 4:30 PM, the ship will return to the Untergöhren dock, where the daylight will be reflecting goldenly on the water.
