Escape the city for a relaxed day of hot springs and waterfalls. You travel with max 4 guests in our own premium car, with an experienced local tour leader, so the day runs at an easy pace with time to soak, explore and eat well.
We collect you from your accommodation in the morning. Just 1.5 hours from Thessaloniki, Pozar Thermal Baths (Loutra Pozar) sit at the foot of Voras Mountain, where natural hot springs flow at a steady 37°C all year round. Known for their healing properties, the baths are one of the most relaxing escapes from the city in any season, and they are just as magical in winter, with steam rising off the warm water into the cold mountain air.
You spend around two hours in the outdoor thermal pools, where warm water flows from the rocks and a small waterfall cascades into the river pools, surrounded by mountain scenery. If you would prefer something more private, indoor pools can be arranged on request, subject to morning availability. Just let us know in advance.
Then we head to Edessa, the first capital of the ancient Kingdom of Macedonia. The highlight is Greece's biggest waterfall, plunging into a gorge below the town. You have free time to walk the waterfall path with its viewpoints and bridges, in one of northern Greece's most underrated towns.
Lunch is not included, but your tour leader will point you to the best local spots near the baths or in Edessa, from village tavernas to the town's cafés. You are back at your accommodation in the late afternoon.
Bring a swimsuit, a towel and flip-flops, and an extra layer in the cooler months. Solo travellers are welcome. If we have to cancel because of the weather, you get a full refund.
