Travel from the city center to a remote island in the Stockholm archipelago in the morning. Your guide will pick you up and drive (approx. 1h) to the very outskirts of the southern archipelago. Take a ferry to Öja island (which is quite a trip itself!) and land in an idyllic village with just a handful of local residents. Start your hike around the island (approx. 11 km/easy to intermediate with option to shorten) to explore some rugged rocky terrain, forest, bird ringing station and even a natural pool. Have an outdoor lunch stop which might even turn into a cozy bbq in good weather conditions! Walk along the island to visit its famous Landsort lighthouse built in the 17th century. You will also see relics of the Cold War era, including an abandoned artillery battery and its infrastructure. Learn some history, admire Swedish nature and get an impression of a local life on a remote island! Return back to the city in the late afternoon/early evening.
