Stop At: Plitvice Lakes National Park,
Plitvice Lakes National park, world’s natural heritage that is on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979!
Meet your local guide in the park and start with a pleasant train ride around the Upper Lakes. Together with our guide in the lead, we start with our tour by exploring the series of twelve interconnected lakes called the Upper Lakes (Gornja Jezera). The lakes also change color depending on the mineral composition of the water and the microorganisms living in them.
After experiencing the beauty of lakes and “still” water, we are taking you to the Lower Lakes.
The Lower Plitvice Lakes system is formed in the canyon that is constructed of permeable limestone. The highest rocks in the canyon are about 40 meters. The travertine cascade formed between “Kaluđerovac” and “Novakovica brod” lake is visitors’ path leading down from the NP Entrance 1 towards the “Veliki Slap” waterfall and then further on around the Lower Lakes upstream in the direction of the “Kozjak” Lake. The highlight of the Plitvice tour is undoubtedly the Great Waterfall (Veliki Slap), which is also known as the tallest waterfall in Croatia.
