  • After a pickup from your hotel in Sousse or Monastir, begin your desert adventure at the El Jem Colosseum. This ancient Roman stadium used to seat 35,000 spectators, who came for the gladiatorial fights and chariot races.

    Next, head to Matmata for lunch. After lunch visit the rock-cut cave homes that featured in the Star Wars films. Finish the day at your very own oasis with an overnight stay in Douz, the Gateway to the Sahara.

    In the morning, cross Chott el Djerid, a rust-washed salt lake, before hopping into a 4x4 for a ride to Onk Jemal. Explore a film set city built exclusively for Star Wars.

    After stopping for a Tunisian lunch at Gafsa, enjoy a photo stop in historic Kairouan. Marvel at the richly decorated mosques that give the town an abundance of character.
