What you can expect

Behold the beauty of the HIGHLANDS of northern Oaxaca's Sierra Norte region. You will be amazed by the stunning MOUNTAIN VIEWS and witness the lifestyle of an INDIGENOUS mountain village, which is part of the pueblos MANCOMUNADOS.

Meet your guide in downtown Oaxaca and begin your journey to the village of Cuajilomoyas, located at 3,150 meters above sea level. Stop for breakfast (memelas & coffee) at a local eatery in the mountains before the hike.

Begin the hike into the cloud forest where you will see a lot of local plants like ferns, giant agaves, wildflowers, pine trees, oaks, and wild mushrooms. Hike through gorgeous forest trails, pass a crevasse, hike along impressive tall rock walls, and enjoy the amazing views of the valley at the viewpoints.

After the hike, cross a 100-meter long suspension bridge (optional activity), walk around the indigenous village, and finish off with a delicious lunch at a local family eatery to try authentic homemade oaxacan cuisine.
