Discover the spectacular coastline of the Arrábida Natural Park and the protected Luiz Saldanha Marine Park on a 4-hour on the water guided kayak experience along the coast of Sesimbra.
Our kayak tour departs from Sesimbra Harbour and follows the coastline towards the famous Ribeiro do Cavalo Beach. Along the way, we paddle beneath the limestone cliffs and explore caves, rock passages, small coves and crystal-clear waters that make this one of the most distinctive coastlines in Portugal.
The journey to Ribeiro do Cavalo normally takes around 1.5 hours by kayak. Once we reach the beach, we stop to relax, swim and enjoy the scenery before paddling back to Sesimbra. The return journey is normally faster, depending on sea and wind conditions.
Our local guides accompany the group throughout the experience and share their knowledge of the region, including its nature, geology, history, local stories and legends.
We deliberately keep our groups small, with a maximum of 5 double kayaks per guide. This allows our guides to provide close support throughout the tour and creates a more personal experience on the water.
Choose how you want to join us:
From Sesimbra: meet us directly at Sesimbra Harbour and join the 4-hour on the water kayak experience.
From Lisbon: meet us at Time Out Market in Lisbon and travel with us to Sesimbra by round-trip transfer. You then join the same 4-hour guided kayak experience on the water before returning to Lisbon.
The Lisbon option takes approximately 6.5 hours in total, including transportation.
The private option includes the same 4-hour kayak route from Sesimbra, but with the entire experience reserved exclusively for your group. We pick you up directly from your accommodation or requested address in Lisbon and return you there after the tour.
No previous kayaking experience is required, but all participants must be able to swim and feel comfortable in open water.
Depending on the option selected, you can also enjoy a picnic at Ribeiro do Cavalo Beach, including a vegan or chicken baguette, seasonal fruit, traditional Sesimbra Farinha Torrada and water. Other dietary requirements can be accommodated when requested in advance.
