About Munnar

About Periyar
Periyar, located in Thekkady, Kerala, is well known for its boat cruises on Periyar Lake and guided nature walks. The lake was formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam and provides opportunities to experience the surrounding forests and wildlife.
During a boat cruise, visitors may have the opportunity to spot elephants, gaur, sambar deer, and various bird species. The area also offers guided nature walks, bamboo rafting, border hiking, and visits to spice plantations.
Periyar combines outdoor activities, scenic landscapes, and opportunities to experience the local natural surroundings.

Day 01: Kochi – Munnar Approx. 130 km / 4 hrs
Pickup from Kochi Airport or your hotel and drive towards Munnar through the scenic Western Ghats, with waterfalls and spice plantations along the route. Upon arrival in Munnar, check in to your hotel.
In the afternoon, visit the Tea Museum, Blossom Park, and Pothamedu View Point. In the evening, enjoy free time for leisure or take a stroll through Munnar town and local market. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 02: Munnar Sightseeing – Periyar/Thekkady Approx. 100 km / 3 hrs.
After breakfast, visit: Mattupetty Dam & Lake – Optional boating activity.
Echo Point & Kundala Lake – Enjoy the scenic surroundings.
Later, proceed to Periyar (Thekkady) on a scenic drive through the Cardamom Hills and spice-growing areas. Upon arrival in Thekkady, check in to your hotel.
In the evening, enjoy a Kathakali dance show or Kalaripayattu martial arts performance.
Overnight stay in Periyar/Thekkady.

Day 03: Periyar Sightseeing – Kochi Approx. 155 km / 4.5 hrs.
Start the day with an early morning boat cruise on Periyar Lake. During the cruise, you may have the opportunity to observe wildlife and birds while enjoying the scenic surroundings.
After the boat cruise, visit a spice plantation and learn about locally grown spices.
Later, proceed to Kochi. Upon arrival, our driver will drop you at Kochi Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. Our services conclude with the departure transfer.
