Embark on a 3-day adventure in the Amazon rainforest. Explore the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, and see pink dolphins, tarantulas, scorpions, and giant frogs. Camp in the jungle, and learn about medicinal plants.
Day 1:
After being picked up from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos, head to the Nauta port. Board a motorboat and begin your journey along the Marañón River. Keep an eye out for the famous pink dolphins that inhabit these waters. Enjoy a traditional lunch on board.
Arrive at a campsite in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Set up your tents and learn about the rich ecosystem of the Huaylla Lagoon. Have dinner in the middle of nature. After dinner, go on a night hike to look for tarantulas, scorpions, and giant frogs. Return to the campsite and rest for the night.
Day 2:
Wake up early to watch the sunrise and try to spot iguanas and sloths. Return to the campsite for breakfast. Board a boat to sail along the Pucate River and observe various species such as monkeys, macaws, and toucans. Disembark in the jungle to camp and have a comforting lunch.
In the afternoon, walk through the jungle to a lake. Learn how to use medicinal plants on its shores. After dinner under the stars, enjoy a night tour in a canoe. Return to the campsite and rest for the night.
Day 3:
Wake up early and sail along the Yarapa River to spot the otters that inhabit its banks. Conclude the journey with a good breakfast and lunch at the campsite. Learn some survival techniques.
Then, go on a jungle walk, and then have free time to take a dip in the river. Finally, return to Nauta and from there to Iquitos, where you will arrive at 6:00 PM.
