Day 01:- From Indore to Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga.
Start your spiritual journey early in the morning from Indore, the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh. After a comfortable pickup from your hotel, airport, or railway station, drive towards Omkareshwar, located about 80 km from Indore (approx. 2.5–3 hours). The drive passes through scenic countryside, small villages, and the peaceful landscape of the Narmada valley.
Arrival at Omkareshwar
Upon arrival, proceed to the holy town of Omkareshwar, situated on Mandhata Island in the sacred Narmada River. The island is naturally shaped like the divine symbol ॐ (Om), giving the temple its holy name.
Narmada Snan (Holy Bath)
Begin the pilgrimage with a holy dip in the Narmada River at the ghats. Devotees believe that taking a bath here purifies the soul and prepares one spiritually for Jyotirlinga darshan.
Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Darshan
Visit the revered Omkareshwar Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Participate in the aarti and perform Rudrabhishek (optional). Experience the powerful spiritual energy and ancient architecture of this sacred shrine.
Boat Ride on Narmada River
In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the Narmada River, offering beautiful views of Mandhata Island, temples, and surrounding hills.
Mamleshwar (Amareshwar) Temple
After Omkareshwar darshan, cross the bridge to visit Mamleshwar Temple, which holds equal importance. It is believed that a Jyotirlinga pilgrimage is incomplete without visiting both Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar.
Late come back to the Indore and our tour will end.
