Dedicate a day to discover and taste the flavors of Republic of Moldova, known for its good cuisine, great wines and wineries and intricate history.
Starting early in the morning you will prepare for a 3-4 hours road trip to Mimi Castel in Bulboaca village, at 40 km east from Chisinau. The road will cross the border between the two states but will continue to offer picturesque, authentic and traditional details specific to the Moldova area showing, through many elements present in both territories, that for most of history there was only one country. However, you will best understand this complicated story together with your history-loving guide. What's more, he can talk about wines with the same passion as he does about history, only this time he is more skilled in the field, with WSET level 2 and 3 courses at his disposal.
Once arrived at Mimi Castel, you will see the renovated castle with its architectural beautiful details, then will start the visit to the winery which is considered one of the most beautiful winery in Moldova. The castle was built at the end of the 19th century by the renowned boyar Mimi who was not only a wine enthusiast, he was also an excellent researcher, studying and making an important contribution to saving and developing the vineyards of Moldova.
After the visit you will be invited to test the wine in a wine tasting session of 4-5 types of different wines.
After the visit at Mimi Castle the itinerary will continue with a visit of Chisinau central area, discovering the most important attractions in a relaxing walk: the Cathedral, Arch of Triumph, the City Hall and other important buildings that bring in front of you different architectural styles enriching the city.
After the visit yo will return back to Iasi, to your hotel.
