Embark on a nature hike at El Horeb Nature Reserve and the Womb of Pacha Mama. Enjoy a traditional fiambre lunch by the river and learn about the local community and the importance of territorial conservation.
Begin your day with a transfer to Belén de los Andaquíes, about one hour from Florencia. From there, continue on an unpaved road for approximately 5 kilometers (15 minutes) to the starting point of a 40-minute hike (3 kilometers with less than 100 meters of elevation gain) leading to the reserve.
Upon arrival at the visitor center, receive an introductory talk about the environmental processes, history, and characteristics of the project, highlighting its importance for territorial conservation.
Next, embark on a circular route through the reserve’s main trails: the Trail of the White-collared Swifts, the Yin-Yang Cave, and the iconic Womb of Pacha Mama, a magical and spiritual place that invites introspection and a deep connection with nature and oneself.
The hike spans approximately 3 to 4 kilometers over mostly flat terrain and includes crossing the river, for which life jackets and dry bags will be provided if necessary. At the end of the hike, weather permitting, enjoy a delicious traditional fiambre lunch by the river, wrapped in bijao leaves. In case of rain, lunch will be served at the reserve’s visitor center.
After a restful break, hike back to the entrance point to begin the return transfer to Florencia.
