Our adventure begins at 22 St Andrew Square in the heart of Edinburgh (EH2 1AY), where we set off on a scenic drive to Glenkinchie Distillery. Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the city, you’ll soon notice the landscape transitioning into the rolling green hills and fertile farmland of East Lothian. This picturesque region, located just southeast of Edinburgh, is renowned for its quaint villages and peaceful countryside, offering a welcome escape from urban life.
Situated in this charming rural setting, Glenkinchie is affectionately known as the “Garden of Scotland,” thanks to its lush agricultural surroundings. The area’s fertile land provides ideal conditions for growing barley, a key ingredient in whisky production. The distillery itself is a tranquil haven, featuring beautifully landscaped gardens and historic buildings that reflect its rich heritage.
On the Flavour Journey Tour & Tasting, you’ll be greeted by Glenkinchie’s friendly and knowledgeable guides. These whisky experts are not only skilled in explaining the intricacies of whisky-making but also excel at sharing engaging stories about the distillery’s history and craftsmanship, making your visit truly memorable.
To ensure you have the best experience, our carefully timed schedule allows plenty of opportunity to browse the distillery shop, enjoy lunch, or savor additional drinks before we return to Edinburgh.
Important Notice – June 2026 Bookings
Please note that during June 2026, Glenkinchie Distillery will be entering its Silent Season, meaning the Production area will be closed and the standard Flavour Journey tour will be temporarily unavailable for bookings during this period.
Guests visiting in June will instead enjoy the Glenkinchie Sensory Experience — an immersive alternative including a Sensory Theatre tasting of the iconic 12-Year-Old whisky, a visit to the Model Room, and a guided tasting of 3 further whiskies in the atmospheric Maturation Room, totalling 4 exceptional drams. The transfer service from Edinburgh remains unchanged, and we look forward to welcoming you to one of Scotland's most celebrated Lowland distilleries.
