05.30 am: Embark on an early morning adventure with a pick-up from your hotel, heading towards Minneriya & Eco National Park.
06.00 am: Enjoy a full-day safari at Minneriya & Eco National Parks, a wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka's North Central province. Witness the remarkable sight of large herds of Sri Lankan Elephants gathering around grass fields near the reservoir during the dry season. Explore the park's diverse ecosystem, home to endemic monkeys, herbivorous mammals like Sri Lankan sambar deer and axis deer, and rare species such as Sri Lankan leopard and sloth bear. Keep an eye out for a variety of bird species, including large water birds like lesser adjutant, painted stork, and spot-billed pelican, along with little cormorants, Great white pelican, ruddy turnstone, and grey heron. The park boasts an impressive range of wildlife, with approximately 24 species of mammals, 160 species of birds, 9 species of amphibians, 25 species of reptiles, 26 species of fish, and 75 species of butterflies.
