What you can expect

  • Enjoy a relaxed, personalised day out with Giles Tours - Christchurch’s highest rated wine tour company, with over a hundred 5 star reviews across various platforms.

This private guided tour takes you from Christchurch to the Waipara Valley (approximately 45 minutes north), where you can visit up to four boutique wineries. Because this is a small, guided experience, you have the freedom to choose the wineries you’d like to visit, the tasting flights you want to try, and the type of lunch you prefer. Your guide will recommend an itinerary based on your tastes, but the final choices are always yours.

You’ll travel in a luxury vehicle featuring comfortable leather seating, air conditioning, Bluetooth audio, and a “passenger talk” system so you don’t miss any commentary along the way.

    The Waipara Valley
Part of the North Canterbury Wine Region, the Waipara Valley is renowned for producing world‑class Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, and aromatic whites. It’s warm, dry climate and limestone‑rich soils create ideal conditions for award‑winning wines.

    Itinerary
After your pickup in central Christchurch, enjoy a scenic drive to the Waipara Valley. Visit 3 - 4 boutique wineries and tasting rooms, with the option to add additional stops or adjust timing to suit your plans. Most guests find that three wineries is the perfect balance, but the day is entirely flexible.
