Escape the city and enjoy a fun half-day exploring Chiang Mai’s beautiful Mae Taeng region. Drift along a gentle jungle river on a relaxing tubing adventure and choose between two unique experiences: a refreshing waterfall slide or an ethical elephant visit.
After pickup from your accommodation in Chiang Mai, travel in air-conditioned comfort to our riverside base camp. Change into swimwear, store your belongings, enjoy a welcome drink, and receive a short safety briefing from our friendly local guides.
Begin your river tubing adventure and float along a calm section of the Mae Taeng River. Take in views of lush forest scenery and pass the famous Elephant Nature Park area. No experience is needed — just sit back, relax, and enjoy the moment.
Continue your adventure with your chosen option:
Option 1: River Tubing & Waterfall Slide
Walk to a natural jungle waterfall hidden between smooth rock formations. Cool off in crystal-clear pools and enjoy our unique waterfall slide — a safe and fun highlight for all ages. Afterward, return to base camp for a warm shower, snacks, and time to relax before heading back to Chiang Mai.
Please note: This option does not include an elephant visit.
Option 2: River Tubing & Elephant Visit (Ethical & Community-Run)
Visit one of two community-run elephant sanctuaries — Care for Elephants or Sunshine for Elephants. Learn about their stories, support ethical, non-riding practices, and observe elephants living naturally in their forest environment.
Please note: This option does not include the waterfall slide.
Ethical Elephant Experience – Aligned with Elephant Nature Park Principles
We understand that many travelers are concerned about elephant welfare.
For this reason, we only work with ethical, community-run elephant sanctuaries that follow the principles of Elephant Nature Park (ENP).
The elephant sanctuaries included in this experience:
- Operate in cooperation with Elephant Nature Park–aligned initiatives
- Follow a strict no riding, no chains, no hooks policy
- Focus on observation, natural behavior, and respectful feeding
- Support local mahout families through ethical, non-exploitative tourism
Guests will have the opportunity to feed elephants responsibly and observe them living freely in their natural forest environment.
Animal welfare always comes first.
Our Commitment to Nature
We care deeply about the environment and local communities. We use refillable water stations, reduce single-use plastic, support local employment, and promote waste-sorting education in Mae Taeng. Your visit directly supports community-based eco-tourism.
Important Notes
- We are not directly affiliated with Elephant Nature Park
- Our river route only passes along the park’s boundary — we do not enter
- Elephant interactions are based on the animals’ comfort
- Elephant sightings and close interaction cannot be guaranteed
