Escape the crowds and discover the untouched beauty of Crete’s southern coast on a full-day beach experience from Chania to Loutro, one of the island’s most peaceful seaside villages.
Your day begins with morning pickup from the Chania area (07:20–08:30), followed by a comfortable drive through Crete’s diverse landscapes toward the southern coast. At approximately 10:30, arrive in Chora Sfakion (Sfakia), where you will board a local ferry for a scenic boat journey to Loutro.
The boat departs around 10:30–11:00, offering breathtaking views of steep cliffs, hidden coves, sea caves, and the deep blue waters of the Libyan Sea. Loutro’s remote location, with no road access, preserves its authentic character and tranquil atmosphere.
Upon arrival in Loutro at around 11:00, enjoy extended free time to swim in the crystal-clear, calm waters, relax on the pebble beach, or explore the small waterfront village. The beach’s gentle waters make it ideal for families, while the peaceful setting is perfect for those seeking relaxation away from busy tourist areas.
Along the waterfront, you’ll find traditional tavernas and cafés serving fresh seafood and local Cretan cuisine, where you can enjoy lunch with stunning sea views. Optional activities, such as boat rentals to nearby beaches like Marmara or Glyka Nera, are available at an additional cost (ask your guide for details).
Departure from Loutro is scheduled at approximately 15:30, with arrival back in Sfakia around 16:00. From there, return by bus to the Chania area, arriving at your hotel between 18:00 and 18:30.
This tour is designed for travelers who appreciate natural beauty, a relaxed pace, and authentic coastal experiences.
