Continue to the impressive Poenari Fortress, the authentic fortress of Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Dracula). Visitors who wish to reach the fortress must climb approximately 1,500 steps. The climb is challenging but rewards you with breathtaking views and a unique historical experience. While driving along the Transfăgărășan Highway, there is often a chance to spot bears near the roadside or at the edge of the forest. Although sightings cannot be guaranteed, if we are lucky enough to see them, they will always be observed safely from inside the vehicle without disturbing the animals.
