What you can expect

  • Some places you can't see from a tour bus window. The original full-day trip through Triglav National Park and the Julian Alps, running since 2004, designed to take you to the spots most visitors never find.

You'll be picked up in Bled by minivan and spend the day looping through the heart of the Julian Alps, with around 3 hours of scenic driving spread across the whole day and stops every 20 to 40 minutes for viewpoints, walks and activities. Along the way, the landscape keeps changing: the Karavanke range, Peričnik Waterfall thundering off its cliff, alpine Kranjska Gora and mirror-still Lake Jasna, the Russian Chapel, the Prisank Mountain Window, and then up and over the hairpins of Vršič, Slovenia's highest mountain pass, where the face of Ajdovska Deklica watches from the rock.

On the other side, you'll meet the star of the day: the Soča. You'll follow this impossibly emerald river from its source down through deep, narrow gorges like Velika Korita, crossing swinging bridges and stopping wherever the light and water are at their best. In the afternoon, there's the option to jump in properly with a whitewater rafting trip on the Soča (extra fee), one of the most beautiful rafting rivers in Europe. The day also passes Bovec, Boka Waterfall (Slovenia's highest), the Predil Pass and the springs of Zelenci before rolling back into Bled about 10 hours after you left.

Three short hikes of 30 to 45 minutes each take you to the best waterfalls and viewpoints. Every hike, swim and activity is optional; you can always wait at the minivan, which is parked somewhere scenic on purpose. Your guide takes photos throughout the day, included free.

There is no fixed script. Our local, English-speaking guides shape each day's route around the weather, the water, and the group, chasing the best conditions rather than a rigid timetable. That's been the 3glav way for over 20 years, and it's why two guests on the same tour a week apart come home with different favorite stories.

We keep it to a maximum of 8 guests per guide and minivan, so the day feels like a road trip with a knowledgeable local friend, not a coach tour. Bring sporty shoes, a jacket, swimwear and a towel, your passport or EU ID, and around 10-25 EUR for lunch and drinks.

One day, one loop, and more of Slovenia than most people see in a week!
