What you can expect

2:50 AM – 3:20 AM Hotel pickup (if located in the historical center); otherwise, pickup will be from Plaza de Armas in Arequipa.

We will travel for approximately 3 hours to the town of Chivay to have breakfast and then head to the viewpoints in the Colca Valley to take photographs of the pre-Inca terrace formations, see the crop fields, and observe the local population in their traditional attire.

Next, we will head to the most remarkable site, the Colca Canyon, which is considered one of the deepest canyons in the world. Here, we will also be able to observe one of the largest birds in the world in its natural habitat, and we will spend approximately one hour there.

After the Cruz del Cóndor lookout point, we will head to a town called Maca to see its colonial church and the locals, dressed in their traditional attire, alongside their South American camelids.

We will then continue to the hot springs, where we are recommended to relax for one hour, and afterward, we will proceed to the town of Chivay for lunch.

On the way back to the city of Arequipa, we will make two stops: first, at the Volcanoes Viewpoint, located at an elevation of 4,910 meters (16,112 feet) above sea level, to observe the Andes Mountains; then, we will continue to the Salinas and Aguada Blanca Reserve to observe South American camelids (llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas) in their natural habitat.

Last stop: the city of Arequipa. We will arrive at the tourist parking lot (three blocks from Plaza de Armas).
