Experience an eerily spectacular city tour through Frankfurt's old town with The Executioner of Horror. An executioner leads you in scenic, satirical performances from the cathedral square through Schirn and St. Nicholas Church to the Main, on to the Römer and St. Paul's Church. The mixture of creepy spectacle and historical facts illuminates torture and executions, without physical effects, solely through language, facial expressions and dark humor.
The staging is interactive, participants can get involved or passively follow the performance. Ideal for fans of horror films who are looking for a lively, at the same time informative guided tour through well-known Frankfurt places. The performance dispenses with physical contact.
The meeting point is in front of the main entrance to the cathedral, where emperors were crowned. The tour starts punctually with the arrival of the guide, who is holding a white mask in his hand. Continue towards the bank of the Main where many accused convicts, mostly women, were drowned in the water.
Finally, reach your final stop, near the Römer, Frankfurt's famous Town Hall, where you will learn all about the Römerberg's gruesome past as the location of many medieval death penalty punishments and torture chambers.
