Set off on an unforgettable El Yunque Rainforest adventure, exploring Puerto Rico’s most famous natural treasure with a knowledgeable local guide. This experience combines hiking, natural waterslides, cliff jumps, rope swings, and cultural storytelling in the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System.
Your adventure begins where you choose. You can drive your own vehicle and follow the guide or select our optional round-trip shuttle transportation with convenient meeting points in San Juan (Plaza Loiza Cll. Corona), Carolina (Walgreens Ave. Fragoso), Luquillo (Walgreens), and Fajardo (Ralph’s Food Warehouse).
Once you arrive at El Yunque National Forest, the real adventure begins. After a quick safety orientation and receiving your life vest, you’ll leave the ordinary behind along with anything you don’t want getting wet and step into a world of lush jungle, rushing waters, and vibrant tropical scenery.
As you hike along scenic rainforest trails, your guide will share fascinating stories about Puerto Rican culture, Taíno legends, native plants, and wildlife that make El Yunque such a unique ecosystem.
After about 25 minutes of hiking, you’ll reach your first destination: a hidden natural pool deep in the rainforest. Here you can swing from ropes, jump from natural rock formations of varying heights, or simply relax in the refreshing mountain water.
But the adventure continues. Climb a little further to reach a second, more secluded pool where nature turns into a playground. Slide down smooth volcanic rock waterslides into the crystal-clear water — one of the most unforgettable moments of the tour.
After enjoying both natural pools, you’ll make your way back down the trail, rinse off, and celebrate the experience with complimentary snacks and great vibes before heading back.
Guests who choose the San Juan / Carolina transportation option will also enjoy an extra stop at the famous Luquillo Kiosks after the rainforest tour. Located next to beautiful Luquillo Beach, this vibrant oceanfront strip features dozens of local food kiosks offering authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, tropical drinks, seafood, mofongo, and refreshing treats. It’s one of the island’s most iconic food destinations and the perfect place to relax and experience local flavors after your rainforest adventure.
