Experience the art of painting with watercolors in this scenic, peaceful park located steps away from historic Old Town. You will arrive at a painting picnic fully set up with watercolor paints and papers, a variety of paintbrushes, adjustable easels, and boho-style pillow seating. Folding chairs are available upon request. Tea and macarons are included. Please arrive on time out of respect for the group & message us in advance if you prefer a private reservation. We will start out the first 30 minutes by sharing our Watercolor philosophies and introducing you to basic watercolor techniques including color theory, blending, and layering. Plenty of watercolor papers will be provided for practicing different paintbrushes, strokes, and paint-water ratios. Next, we will spend 60-90 minutes on each guest crafting an original watercolor painting. Numerous watercolor samples of botanical and landscape paintings will be made available to view as a guide. Or, you may choose the Plein Air style and focus on a scene or a tree in the park. This painting workshop is designed to integrate the flexible and relaxing flow of watercolor painting, with creating nature-themed art of your choosing.
