- We are in the village of Engares which is about 15 minutes ( 7 kilometres) from the port of Naxos on the north coastal road. You will arrive and pass through the village and past the Olive Press Museum you will cross a narrow bridge. About 100 meters after you will turn left onto a gravel road at the second blue sign marked "Outopia". I will meet you at the 3rd gate on the right. If you need a taxi you can call Dimitris with Radio Taxi (30) 697 661 1159. You can just say, "We're going to Maggie's workshop" There is also a bus that leaves from the port at 9:30. - All tools, marble, workstations and materials and safety gear are provided. Guided instruction and one on one personal input on the implementation of your project that you will be able to take home with you. We will enjoy fresh fruit and drinks as well as close with a tasting of local products to give the space to reflect and connect with others that may have joined the workshop.

Here, you'll find work tables, blocks of pristine white marble sourced from the island of Naxos, and a collection of locally forged tools. Our experienced instructor Maggie Ross will take you on a journey through the rich history of marble arts, introducing you to various types of tools and discussing the unique properties of marble and other stones. You'll learn the traditional hand carving technique for each tool as you practice on a block of marble for a designated period. Whether you choose to follow one of our Archaic Greek design templates or bring your own idea to life, Maggie will work with you every step of the way, from concept to execution. With no prior experience necessary, this three-hour workshop is perfect for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the art of marble sculpture in a peaceful and serene outdoor setting.
