What you can expect

  • Explore the megalithic monuments of the Évora region on a guided tour. Visit the Cromlech of Almendres, one of the largest and oldest megalithic sites in the Iberian Peninsula, and the Great Dolmen of Zambujeiro, an impressive prehistoric burial site dating back to the Neolithic period.

Begin your tour with a pick-up at a location designated by you. The first stop is at the Cromlech of Almendres, where your guide provides a brief explanation of its origin, purpose, and importance in prehistory.

Next, visit the Great Dolmen of Zambujeiro. Please note that to reach the monument it is necessary to walk approximately 950 metres along a rural path, making a total of about 1,900 metres on foot for the round trip. At this site, you will also learn about the construction techniques and the cultural significance of this remarkable Neolithic burial structure.
